Of late, Toyota has been battling with depressing feedback from the enormous safety recalls of its automobiles and their sales too show a negative graph. So the company has this novel idea to refurbish its image! Naturally, they turn to Twitter for help!! The Japanese car manufacturer has initiated tweets on Tweetmeme.com in collaboration with Federated Media, which collects and manages twitter tweets of Toyota.

Toyota Receives Image

The site is ‘Toyota Conversations’ and it assembles the major stories that are being tweeted about Toyota from press announcements and write-ups. Visitors of the site can watch the popular videos and pictures that are being shared on Twitter. Further the channel contains featured tweets and ad-tweets form Toyota’s press room.

After going through all the major tweets that are benig collected and assembled on the site, you will come to the conclusion that almost all the news is encouraging. It does not appear to be in conformity with the general pitch of the media on Toyota, who have been vehement in their criticism of the car manufacturer for their glaring gaffes. If you explore Toyota tweets on Tweetfeel the overall opinion on Toyota tweets are on the negative. Tweetmeme feeds can be so arranged that it picks up only a few particular news resources and Toyota decided on the affable one.

It is certainly fascinating to watch such a prestigious group considering Twitter to improve its image by connecting openly with its customers. There are many reported incidents in which Twitter is seen to have influenced public opinions in extraordinary ways. Contemporary scene is that more and more brands are moving towards Twitter for keeping an eye on the tweets on their companies as well as to contribute and sway the public opinion by actively participating in tweets.
