LG sets the Ball Rolling with the first mass produced full HD 3D LCD Monitor
Just like the HD revolution, many critics will write it off but 3D is here to stay, whether you like it or not. LG made the first initiative as it revealed its plans to unveil the first mass produced full HD 3D-capable monitor. In spite of the 23 inches of diagonal length, a minimalistic bezel is welcome addition to the offering. However, as is characteristic of all press launches, there is a distinct lack of detail in the information available. The PR blurb did reference Korea’s plans to initiate Full HD 3D broadcasts along with the satellite 3D broadcasting trials set to occur in the U.K. and Japan.

The new LCD will be based on shutter glass technology – which looks way better than the colored glasses one is compelled to wear if subjected to view 3D content using circular polarized technology. With LG’s proprietary “high performance 3D exclusive controller” and the use of a “copper bus line”, LG boasts of a first in the revolution. We, however, await CES 2010 to see this model in action!
