Couple Alive After a Car Slams into their Bedroom and Pins Them Down
A couple got a wake-up call at around 4 am that they are not likely to forget any time soon when a car slammed into their house and on top of their beds pinning them down. Waking up when the car was already on top of him Trent Wood could hardly comprehend what had just happened. Initially the thought of an earthquake or the roof caving in is what actually struck him. Only when Kristin Palmer his girlfriend also trapped under the car started screaming and his eyes got accustomed to the dark did he realize that they were actually pinned under the car.

The driver Eric Cross who was driving heavily under the influence of alcohol had though that this was the house of his ex-girlfriend and her new found boyfriend. Cross is now accused of stealing a car, drunk driving, battery with a deadly weapon and driving without a license. The Washoe County Sheriff’s office is already investigating the motor vehicle collision. This jealous boyfriend will surely have more things to worry about that troubling his ex.
The couple who suffered minor injuries and burns from the hot motor fluids that poured on to their body and face during the 42 minutes that they spent pinned under the car, thanked their stars for the miracle. The emergency workers had to use chain saws, air bags, wood blocks and hydraulic equipment to cut through the walls and then lift and stabilize the car just enough so that the couple could get out from underneath. As per the rescue workers, it was the process of stabilizing the car just enough with causing anymore injury was what took time.
The bed collapsed under the car’s weight giving just enough room so that the bodies of the couple did not get crushed between the car and the bed. While under the car the couple’s biggest fear was that the car could explode into a ball of fire due to the pouring fluids. The couple who were screaming while under the car, however, got a grip when they saw the emergency workers trying to get them out of harm’s way. The rescue workers started communicating with the couple to calm them down. They were sent to the local hospital for first aid after being rescued.
Residents of 400 block of 7th and E streets in Sparks, the couple, who are college students, are accepting donations through their bank to be able to pay for the repairs.
