Comcast Takes Over NBC, Hulu Not to be Destroyed

Submitted on 2009/11/26 No Comment

This morning the buyout of NBC was confirmed by Comcast and here are a few details about it for rom-com fans. Comcast has now a share of 51percent of NBC-Universal compared to GE’s 49 percent. Now they will manage the whole body and will definitely provide some strong push to their recently acquired content.

Not a very long time ago the CEO of Comcast, Mr. Brian Roberts said that they bought some profitable TV channels as well as some theme parks. The later probably was a joke. However, what is not funny is that the studio has seen better years and the network has been said to be a faltering one.

Comcast Takes Over NBC

Comcast COO Steve Burke said that NBC will take care not to put too much cable content on the internet when asked about TV Everywhere and Hulu. This strategy described by him as a smart one will take things forward and they are going to continue having free broadcast material on Hulu and cable stuff on TV Everywhere.
And what about rumors about Hulu Premium? It is said to be not on the cards. Web based TV fans will be glad to hear that Roberts said that they love Hulu and they have no intention to destroy it.

While all that sounds great it’s not confirmed until the government has its say. The federal Trade Commission, the FCC and the Justice Department are bound to have a strong opinion on this matter.
