Two more records (domestic and global) of Titanic are yet to be broken and with Avatar’s fast tempo in box office, Titanic’s global record will fall in the coming week.
The contemporary fad of exhibition techniques has greatly contributed to the success of Avatar. More profits were generated from overseas locations where there were 3D settings and IMAX venues where the tickets were priced higher than the usual theaters.

Titanic’s total global revenue earned in 1997 is presently valued at $2.5 billion, when inflation is taken into account. However, the champion still is ‘Gone with the Wind’, which had a total global collection of $400 million in 1939, is currently valued at $6 billion.
Aside from that, the revenues of the first 5 films overseas continue to be the same. Guy Ritchie’s ‘Sherlock Holmes’ remained at the 2nd position. In the 3rd spot was ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks: the Squeakquel’. Director Jason Reitman’s ‘Up in the Air’ got the fourth slot and ‘It’s Complicated’ took the 5th space.
