Amazon Grabs the Second Spot from Samsung on Tablet Sales
It seems that the way Amazon sold Kindle Fire Tablets at a loss were the right decision to do, as the company successfully grabbed the number two spot for tablet sales from Samsung in the last quarter. As according to statistics and numbers provided by the HIS iSuppli research firm, Samsung’s sales reached 2.14 million sales, but that wasn’t good enough for the second spot, as it was grabbed by Amazon’s 3.89 million sold tablets during the last quarter, these two companies pulled of a 22% of the tablet market share, Samsung pulling off 8% and Amazon pulling of the remaining 14%.

But these bold numbers didn’t come easy to Amazon, as their last quarter profits dropped because they sold Kindly Fire tablets at a loss, but even that, they still came behind the beast Apple, with their 15.4 million iPads units sold.
And it seems that the tablet wars that aren’t going to cool off anytime soon with the near debut of the Galaxy Note 10.1 and the new iPad, are taking its toll on Apple’s market share, as it fell to 62% in 2011 after being 87% in 2010.
