U.S web browser users are now switching to Google Chrome. Based on statistics, Google Chrome is getting more browser market share, leading ahead the Apple’s Safari and even the Mozilla Firefox.
From the latest browser statistics released, it shows that Google Chrome has just made its big lead over other browsers, especially in the U.S. In 2009, Google Chrome was holding the 3rd position as the used browser globally. Now, Chrome is gaining fast in terms of usage all over the world. The statistics is based on the October 11, 2009 to June 2010 records.
The other two big players, Mozilla’s Firefox and Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, are still in tight competition.
Google Chrome’s usage has been doubled in the past six months. This is because Chrome can be used by any user all over the world. Like for instance, Chrome is compatible for Mac, Windows and Linux users. Unlike the other browsers, like Safari for instance, where only Mac users can use the browser. Safari is expected to be used only by Macintosh computer owners, iPhones and iPads owners. It is somehow expected that Chrome will surpass the ratings of Safari in terms of web browser usage.
Other than the Macintosh Safari, Chrome is getting more web browser users that have been using Mozilla Firefox before. This is what makes Google Chrome’s increased popularity very interesting. Mozilla Firefox is known to be the most popular web browser used by most users. But from recent statistics, it showed that the users of Firefox are getting consistent, and others are even switching to Chrome.
On the other hand, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is no longer gaining any additional web browser users. The number of users recorded is consistent as well.
While Chrome is rapidly increasing its number of users, Mozilla Firefox is losing at the same rate of increase of Chrome. The rapid changes could not be assumed to be correlated, but since only Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome are widely used by various users, then maybe the loss of Firefox is the gain of Chrome.
It really looks that Firefox users are switching to Google Chrome. Just recently, Chrome is gaining 10% of the worldwide browser market. For a web browser that is just 2 years old, Chrome is gaining lots of users.
